Peer Standards

Share your life experiences and support someone like you!

Profile Images

Peers are required to use an image of themselves as their profile picture. Profile pictures should provide a friendly, professional representation of yourself and meet all of our criteria outlined below. Think business casual, not dating site or social media!

Photo Requirements

FOCUS ON YOU

Use a photo where your face takes up around 60% of the photo, with room on each side. You should be the only face visible in the photo.

FORGET THE FILTERS

Authenticity is the goal. Avoid adding filters that stylize the look of your photo.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Try to avoid busy backgrounds - a photo with a neutral or blurry background is best. We want you to be the focus of the photo!

BE FRIENDLY

Choose a facial expression that is friendly and authentic to how you answer the phone.

LOOK SHARP

Wear something that looks clean and friendly. Business casual is a good place to start.

AVOID LOOKING FLIRTATIOUS

Remember this is not a dating app. You can show your personality without overdoing it.

NO LEWD, PROVOCATIVE,  OR SUGGESTIVE IMAGES

Do not use any image that may be deemed suggestive or lewd. We have a zero-tolerance policy for images use that is intentionally provocative and use of such an image may lead to removal from the platform.

NO UNAUTHORIZED IMAGE USE

Using images of brands / logos to which you do not have the rights to use will not be allowed.

GOOD RESOLUTION

Make sure your photo is at least 500 x 500 pixels for a crisp presentation.

How to prepare to record your experience:

It is highly recommended that you write your experience down before starting your recording to ensure that the message is clear and cohesive.

Recording a Video Experience

Select applicants may be invited to record a video experience within the platform. If the Kindly Human Care Team contacts you about recording a video experience, here are some key guidelines for recording a great video experience.

  • Record in vertical mode on your phone, ensuring your face is centered with space above and below.
  • Hold the phone at eye level to maintain natural eye contact.
  • Pick a quiet location with a neutral background—avoid distractions, clutter, or other people in the frame.
  • Keep it professional yet friendly by avoiding logos, hats, profanity, or slang.
  • For a smooth flow, start by introducing yourself—first name only—then share your story, how you overcame the challenge, and a message of encouragement for others. Speak naturally, as if you're talking to a friend!
  • Avoid doing multiple takes and splicing the clips together.  Jump edits can be distracting to the viewers. Fluid recordings are ideal.
